When was the last time you had to upgrade your cell phone? I would imagine not too long ago.

Most of us usually upgrade because we want the latest and greatest tech, other do so because they must.

The good news is your Epic Alarm system is always updating. We regularly push out wireless software updates (for those on our interactive and above plans.) so the need to upgrade becomes almost non-existent. That is until a part of the hardware becomes obsolete. All good things must come to an end. The FCC working with all major cellular carriers has decided to "sunset" 3G cellular service. Your alarm system has a 3G cellular module in it which will no longer function after February 2021.

The good news is we don't need to replace your entire alarm system.

We don't need to replace any sensors.

We don't need to you to spend $1,500 on the latest iPhone either, but that's your choice :)

All we need to do is have a technician visit your home and install a current generation 4G/LTE module. Doing so will keep you sunset-proof and keep you protected after February 2021. Other benefits include, faster arming and disarming, faster communication with our monitoring center during alarm events and faster action on automation features such as lights, door locks, thermostats and any other automation devices you may have installed and connected to your Epic Alarm system. 

For some further good news:

1. The cost for a new 4G/LTE cellular module is $372, which includes hardware, software upgrade and professional installation by one of our technicians.

2. From now till December 31, 2020 we are offering special pricing thanks to a manufacturer rebate that brings the cost of the upgrade down to $199 installed.

3. If you'd like we can offer to spread the cost for the upgrade over 6 months. Monthly cost is $35 x 6 months, which works out to $210.rm.
